Thanksgiving Table Setting

Yesterday I felt the need to play with a table scape for Thanksgiving, but I challenged myself to only work with things I had around the house. Here’s what I came up with…

IMG_4273The “tablecloth” is an Ikea throw I swiped from the back of the living room sofa. All dishes came from my stash (wedding china and these plates I found in Paris at a flea market). The vase in the center of the table is filled with greenery from a giant shrub from the back yard. The napkins are just scraps of fabric I cut into squares to fill out the setting.

IMG_4277The dried artichokes I’ve had for a few years and rotate to different places in our home depending on my mood.

IMG_4276The alabaster lamps were given to my grandparents as a wedding gift. I love how they look in this room.

IMG_4275Are you up for the challenge? Shop your own home for things you love (and get out in the back yard and clip away) to see what you can come up with without spending a dime. I’d love to hear about (better yet,  see) what you can come up with.
